Final Year Dissertation Prizewinners

The Centre for Early Modern Studies Limerick Final Year Dissertation Prize is awarded annually to the best dissertation in early modern studies. The competition is open to students from the University of Limerick and Mary Immaculate College.

2023: Aaron Keane, BA English and History UL, ‘The Philosopher King: Wisdom, Eternal Knowledge, and Epistemology in King Alfred’s Religious Texts.’ Supervisor: Dr Carrie Griffin.

2022: Jointly awarded to Cian Rowan, History UL, ‘Courtiers, Conquistadores, and Administrators: Imperial Expansion and Domestic Unrest During the Early Years of the Spanish Empire’. Supervisor: Dr Alistair Malcolm
